Action sports photography was something that Tim Patrick had an interest in early on. First working for his college newspaper at Central Washington University, covering sports was a favorite for Tim. Later working for The Ellensburg Daily Record as the head photographer, Tim enjoyed covering the Ellensburg Rodeo for several years. The wild action that could be captured during a rodeo was fascinating to Tim. As for many, bull riding was the most exciting event to witness.
Tim got his first taste of the Omak Stampede and World Famous Suicide Race while working for The Seattle Times. The photo editor at the Times knew Tim had experience covering rodeos, so he sent him to cover the Stampede. Tim said, I will always remember capturing my first Suicide Race. Tim also recalls, Seeing the riders and horses flying down the hill and into the Okanogan River was an amazing site. Tim also covered the Stampede for The Wenatchee World for many years.
In 1988, Tim opened his photography studio in Okanogan. Tim specializes in weddings, high school senior and family portraits. Tim also photographs children, team sports and school dances. Tim has been the Official Stampede Photographer since 2007. Look for Tim in the arena or near the Suicide Race hill capturing that great rodeo action.
